Congratulations!  That is a nice house.  I can’t wait to get a tour on my next trip to Memphis.

    Take care.

Nice looking house. Where in Memphis is that? My wife and I are debating whether to add on to our house or look for another one.

It’s actually in Germantown. Near Riverdale Elementary (no, not because we’re looking at schools other than to help identify good neighborhoods) and accessible to some main thoroughfares like G’town Rd and Wolf River without being a cut through neighborhood. We’re really happy with the location. It’s also near to some of the proposed G’town Smart Growth, which Katie and I are excited about, as far as property values go.

As far as to whether you should buy a bigger house or expand, I’d think about it from an investment point of view. Assuming your house is an average size for your neighborhood, I think the best home investment is to be a smaller home in a neighborhood with bigger homes that pull your price up, rather than adding on to your current home and making your house the biggest on the street. If you’re in love with your neighborhood, though, stay put.
